Our team

We seriously enjoy our work and together we are the fastest growing Open Source business in the UK. With twenty five of us in the business, our developers simply create better software and our project managers and account directors ensure our clients are delighted with the software and services they receive.
Marcus v. Scotti

Marcus v. Scotti

Managing Director

I look after internal operations at fry and as MD I try to make sure everything runs smoothly and that our team is happy. I used to lead research projects at Imperial College London, before entering the private sector as a co-founder of fry. We wanted to start-up a business that reflected some of the freedom that we experienced at Imperial College. I hope the team at fry would agree that together we have created a special workplace with the principles of trust, democracy and personal freedom at its heart.

I love my wife and my kids and spending lots of time with them, which means that there is little me-time. Though when time does allow, I explore technology and where it's taking us, because it fascinates me.

Zahid Malik

Zahid Malik

Chief Executive

I look after key client and partner relationships and fry's market and product strategy. Not quite what you might expect from someone with a background in theoretical physics, but this geek enjoys meeting people! When Marcus and I Ieft Imperial College, we had a passion to continue being part of an organisation where people have real choice about how, when and where they work. We believe that fry really delivers on this promise.

My spare time is spent with family and friends. What's left goes into researching strange, but science-based, ideas about health and fitness, which I'm always happy to share - just ask!

I have a degree in fine arts and over 10 years experience designing online solutions in small and large agency environments and within the Higher Education sector. I am a firm believer in the principles of user-centered design and like to be involved at every stage of the user experience process, from planning through to developing personas and wireframes and finally interface design. I am at my happiest with a blank canvas before me in Photoshop, embarking on a new design project.

User Experience & Design

I am best described as an internet all rounder, and am most commonly found working with clients during the early phases of projects to understand the organisational requirements and, most importantly, the needs of the end user for the website / intranet / mobile app we’re working on. I have considerable experience in translating client and end user requirements into an information architecture that describes the user journey through the application and drives the creative design process.

The geek in me is at his happiest when writing progressive HTML and CSS to produce cross platform, performance optimised front end solutions and then working with back end developers to deliver complex web applications.
